FARMINGDALE, N.Y.  - Attackmen Kyle Norchi and Luke Weidlein scored five goals apiece as the Plattsburgh State men's lacrosse team overcame a four-goal deficit in the first half to beat host Farmingdale State, 22-15, in non-conference action on Sunday. The Cardinals improve to 2-0 while the Rams fall even to 1-1.

Weidlein put Plattsburgh in the lead for good with a man-up goal at the 7:57 mark of the third quarter, breaking a 13-13 deadlock as part of a string of 11 unanswered goals for the Cardinals. He added two assists to tie Farmingdale's Pete Siemsen with seven points for game-scoring honors.

Plattsburgh's Ryan Price collected a game-best 18 ground balls, which is believed to be a school record. He also won 29 of 39 face-offs.

Siemsen came off the bench to pace the Rams' offense with two goals and five assists. Sean Maxwell, Rob Nosworthy and Jimmy Owsinksi had three goals apiece.

Logan Carpenter made 14 saves to improve to 2-0. Plattsburgh also got a solid bench contribution from Pete Morgan, who had a goal and three assists to go along with seven ground balls.
