Radigan Nets Three Goals in Season Finale Win Over Norwich

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Plattsburgh State junior Liz Radigan netted three goals for the Cardinal women's soccer team to help the team finish their season with a 4-2 victory over the Norwich Cadets. Plattsburgh ends their 2009 campaign with an overall record of 10-5-3, while Norwich falls to 8-9-1 for the season.

The Cadets finally answered back with a goal of their own at the 31:34 mark when Brittany Casey tapped teammate Nikki Szczepanski's shot into the back of the net. Casey scored Norwich's other goal unassisted during the 58th minute off a corner kick from the right side.Radigan recorded her final two goals during the 44th and 89th minute of play for the Cardinals. Her second goal resulted after a shot from fellow Cardinal Danielle Wiemer was saved but fell loose. Radigan championed the opportunity and placed the ball easily into an open net. Meanwhile, Radigan's third goal came unassisted after she managed to scramble past a diving Norwich goalkeeper.

All in all, Megan Rivage led Plattsburgh with eight shots, six on goal, while Pageau and Radigan each recorded five shots apiece, all on goal.

For Norwich, Casey led the team with six shots, three on goal. Fellow Cadets Szczepanski, Ashley Sanford, and Mikella Connery racked up a shot each.
