Liya Girma averaged 2.55 kills per set in a 3-0 opening weekend for Plattsburgh State at the Cardinal Classic. She floored seven kills and added 21 digs and two service aces in a 3-1 win over Russell Sage College on Friday before posting five kills in a 3-1 victory over SUNY Poly and 16 kills in a 3-1 triumph over SUNY Potsdam on Saturday. She was the team's top offensive player, leading the squad in kills and points after the first three games.
