PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – For the past decade, a class of Saranac High School students made the trip to the Plattsburgh State Field House to get a hands-on look on proper athletic training techniques from the Sports Medicine Staff.
Plattsburgh State certified trainers Jason Pachter, Lisa Vicencio, Kenta Miyazaki and Georgia Woodworth were all on the scene along with student trainers Josh Ostrander, Alan Siergiej, Kendall Marshall and Nick Economou.

The Saranac students got a one-on-one experience for common daily activities that the trainers go through for their student-athletes. The students participated in taping ankles and wrists, placing their feet in an ice bath, applying heating pads and using the STEM machine that are all used in the rehabilitation of Cardinal athletes.

Students also got to use various equipment that demonstrated rehabilitation drills like balancing on one foot while passing a ball to see what collegiate athletes go through to stay in peak performance.
