Yarkosky Wins 400-Meter Dash as Women’s Track and Field Closes Out AARTFC Outdoor Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Senior Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich. / South Lyon) won the 400-meter dash as the Plattsburgh State women's track and field team concluded action at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday.

Plattsburgh finished tied for 27th with 14 points, while Rochester won the championship with 70 points.

Yarkosky placed first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.52 seconds to lead the Cardinals. Sophomore Brianna Wise (Niskayuna, N.Y. / Niskayuna) also competed in the event, timing in at 1:00.27 to place 28th.

Sophomore Isabella Scott (Valatie, N.Y. / Ichabod Crane) also scored for Plattsburgh, finishing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:05.02.

Plattsburgh now awaits the announcement of qualifiers for next week's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, May 21-23, at Wisconsin-La Crosse. The final list of participants will be released on NCAA.com on Friday, May 15. The top 22 competitors in each event and the top 16 relay teams will qualify for the national meet.
