PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State junior
Kyan Zamaniyan (Kings Park, N.Y./Smithtown West) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Pitcher of the Week for baseball, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. This marks the team's first weekly honor of the season.
Zamaniyan delivered a dominant performance on the mound for Plattsburgh State in the Cardinals' final game of the week. Zamaniyan got the start with Plattsburgh looking to extend its unbeaten streak to five games, and he delivered in commanding fashion. The junior tossed five shutout innings, allowing just two hits while issuing no walks and striking out four to earn the victory. Zamaniyan's strong outing set the tone on the mound and played a key role in finishing off the Cardinals' undefeated week.
