NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its regional athletes and coaches of the year for the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season, and junior
Isaiah Ritter (Peekskill, N.Y. / Peekskill) was named the Mideast Field Athlete of the Year. The honor marks the first of Ritter's career and the first in program history.
Most recently, Ritter earned Second Team All-America honors and Mideast All-Region recognition. He was also named to the All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Second Team following his performance at the SUNYAC Championships.
Ritter was a standout for the Cardinals throughout the indoor season, breaking the program's 19-year-old long jump record. He set the program record mark when it mattered most at the SUNYAC Championships, placing second with a leap of 7.20 meters.
At the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships, Ritter recorded a jump of 6.79 meters to finish 15th. His program record mark remained his top performance of the season and qualified him for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
At the NCAA Championships, Ritter placed 12th in the long jump with a mark of 6.88 meters, earning Second Team All-America honors, the first of his career. He also ranked second in the event among Division III Mideast Region competitors and became the program's first men's indoor All-American since Mike Heymann in 2011.
