PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State first-year Bailey MacKellar (Hamburg, N.Y./Nichols School) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Rookie of the Week for women's hockey, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. This marks her second weekly honor and the team's eighth weekly honor of the season.

MacKellar rose to the occasion during the Cardinals' biggest weekend of the season, delivering clutch performances in a battle between the top two seeds with the No. 1 seed and home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs on the line. In a high-stakes matchup against Cortland, MacKellar recorded two assists, including a crucial helper on the game-winning goal. She carried that momentum into the Cardinals' victory over Morrisville, finding the back of the net to cap off an impactful weekend.
