ITHACA, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team traveled to Ithaca for the Bomber Invitational and delivered several standout performances. Senior
Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich. / South Lyon) set a new indoor program record in the 400-meter dash, posting a time of 57.42 seconds, also achieving an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC)qualifying mark.
In sprint events,
Lexi McDonald (Altona, N.Y. / Northern Adirondack) ran a personal best in the 60-meter dash preliminaries, finishing 10th in 8.18 seconds. She also competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 27.87 seconds, narrowly missing another personal best. In the 60-meter hurdles,
Isabella Scott (Valatie, N.Y. / Ichabod Crane) placed sixth with a time of 9.72 seconds.
Mid-distance and distance events featured strong efforts from Plattsburgh athletes.
Emma Mahoney (Spencerport, N.Y. / Spencerport) finished the 800-meter run in 2:33.42, while
Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) posted the team's top mile finish at 5:34.62 for 16th place.
In the 3,000-meter run,
Marissa Colvin (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls) placed fourth with a time of 10:48.80.
Ellie LeRoy (Malone, N.Y. / Franklin Academy) set a personal best at 11:07.24 for eighth place, and
Ella Stuttard (Oriskany Falls, N.Y. / Waterville) recorded a personal best of 11:54.20, finishing 23rd.
The Cardinals posted solid results in the field events. In the high jump,
Jaelynn Lacey (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) cleared 1.44 meters for eighth, while
Chloe Elliott (Bronx, N.Y. / Belmont Preparatory) set a personal best at 1.39 meters for 15th.
In the long jump,
Marissa LeDuc (Saranac, N.Y. / Saranac) led the team with 4.94 meters for 15th, and
Isabella Scott and
Madalyn Wynnik (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac) recorded personal bests of 4.85 meters and 4.76 meters, respectively.
Jocelyn Harrington (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls) competed in the triple jump, posting a mark of 9.23 meters.
In throwing events,
Taygin Jump (Coupeville, Wash. / Coupeville) was the lone Cardinal competitor in the weight throw, recording 12.21 meters.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, Feb. 7, traveling to Utica for the Blue and Orange Invitational & Multi.
