UTICA, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team traveled to Utica to compete in the Utica Holiday Classic. Senior Grace Yarkosky (South Lyon, Mich. / South Lyon) broke the indoor program record in the 300-meter dash, posting a new program best time of 41.41 seconds.

Yarkosky's new program record mark in the 300-meter dash earned her second place as she also competed in the 200-meter dash, taking home first place with a time of 26.41 seconds.

Another performer of note in the 200-meter dash was first-year Iysis Romani (Bronx, N.Y. / The College Academy), who competed in her first collegiate meet, posting a mark of 29.49 seconds.

First-year Alexa Markowicz (Peru, N.Y.) competed in her first collegiate meet, finishing in seventh in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.57 seconds. She also competed in the 300-meter dash, finishing 13th with a mark of 46.52 seconds.

The 4x200-meter squad of Schneider, Addison Burt (Liverpool, N.Y.), Kaitlyn MacDougall (Fonda, N.Y. / Fonda-Fultonville), and Margot Danziger (Bethlehem, N.Y. / Bethlehem Central) placed fifth with a time of 2:02.43.

The field events were highlighted by a second-place finish from first-year Grace Damiani (Cadyville, N.Y. / Saranac) in the high jump as she cleared 1.60 meters. First-years, Jaelynn Lacey (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh), Chloe Elliott (Bronx, N.Y. / Belmont Preparatory), and Madalyn Wynnik (Dannemora, N.Y. / Saranac) also competed in the high jump. Lacey cleared 1.48 meters, followed by Elliott with a jump of 1.38 meters, and Wynnik posted a mark of 1.23 meters.

Wynnik also competed in the long jump, recording the top finish for the Cardinals at 14th with a jump of 4.83 meters. Junior Deja Davis (Bronx, N.Y. / Paul Robeson) posted a jump of 4.51 meters, which was a new personal best.

First-year Jocelyn Harrington (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls) was the lone competitor in the triple jump, recording a mark of 9.46 meters.

Senior Marissa LeDuc (Saranac, N.Y. / Saranac) recorded a new personal best in the shot put with a throw of 10.08 meters. First-year Elise Lendrum (Westerlo, N.Y. / Berne Knox Westerlo) also competed in shot put, recording a throw of 9.23 meters, and was the lone Cardinal in the weight throw with a mark of 7.09 meters.

Plattsburgh State returns to action in the new year, when the team travels to Middlebury for the Middlebury Winter Classic on Saturday, Jan. 17.
