KEENE, N.H. – The Plattsburgh State women's cross country team earned a 13th-place finish at a competitive Keene State Invitational with multiple ranked teams, scoring 389 points.
The top finisher for the Cardinals was senior
Marissa Colvin (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls) with a mark of 23:26.90 for a 54th place finish. Junior
Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) had a strong outing, coming in at 23:53.70 for 73rd place. The next runners across the line were sophomore
Ella Stuttard (Oriskany Falls, N.Y. / Waterville) with a time of 25:09.40 (117th) and junior
Lillian Moran (Albany, N.Y. / Colonie Central) with a time of 25:32.00 (137th).
Finishing nearly back-to-back were graduate student
Nora Graves (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh) and sophomore
Lexie Rostak (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown), recording marks of 26:36.60 (178th) and 26:39.80 (180th), respectively.
Senior
Ginny Lucchetti (Marcellus, N.Y. / Marcellus) rounded out the top seven, coming in at 27:09.30 (201st).
The Cardinals had two runners record personal bests, as sophomore
Willow McLean (Norfolk, Conn. / Plattsburgh) finished in 29:41.50 (251st) and first-year
Lizzie Owens (Washington, D.C. / Vicenza) in 30:36.40 (265th).
Williams, who is ranked second in the national poll, took home first place with a score of 18.
The Cardinals are back in action in two weeks when the team travels to Springfield, Mass., for a final tune-up at the Western New England Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 18.
