Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y. / Shenendehowa) and senior
Marissa Colvin (South Glens Falls, N.Y. / South Glens Falls) both finished in the top ten, powering the Plattsburgh State women's cross country team to a second-place finish with 99 points at the Western New England Invitational.
Estus was the top finisher for the Cardinals with a personal best mark of 23:48.38 for seventh place, and right behind her was Colvin in eighth place with a time of 23:53.33.
Sophomore
Ellie LeRoy (Malone, N.Y. / Franklin Academy) was the next Cardinal across the line, timing in at 24:23.54 (15th), which was also a new personal best. A few runners later, sophomore
Ella Stuttard (Oriskany Falls, N.Y. / Waterville) recorded a new personal best of 24:41.02 for 23rd place. Senior
Ginny Lucchetti (Marcellus, N.Y. / Marcellus) rounded out the scoring group, coming in at 26:13.98 (53rd).
Sophomore
Lexie Rostak (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown), graduate student
Nora Graves (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Plattsburgh), and sophomore
Isabelle Cunningham (Bethlehem, N.Y. / Bethlehem) also competed today. Rostak and Graves closed out the top seven for Plattsburgh with marks of 26:56.50 (65th) and 27:10.29 (69th), while Cunningham finished with a time of 27:16.57 (70th).
RPI took home first place with a score of 82.
The Cardinals are back in action in two weeks when the team hosts the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Rugar Woods.
