Meet Results

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Five different individuals won events, as the Plattsburgh State women's track and field team competed at the Cortland Red Dragon Open hosted by SUNY Cortland on Saturday.
 
Senior Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y./Saranac) posted what is currently the seventh-fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles this season in NCAA Division III, clocking a first-place standard of 1:04.12. On the track, junior Jessica Landman (Barneveld, N.Y./Holland Patent) and senior Aislyn McDonough (Rouses Point, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton) won the 400-meter dash (1:02.05) and the 800-meter run (2:19.09), respectively, while seniors Kaitlyn Bjelko (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown) and Journey Myricks (Westbury, N.Y./Shaker) paced the Cardinals in the throws, winning the shot put (11.02 meters – 36' 2") and the discus throw (35.89 meters – 117' 9"), respectively.
 
Second-place performances came from Myricks in the shot put (10.75 meters – 35' 3.25"), senior Rebecca Block (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:26.30), sophomore Katie Bergé (Fayetteville, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius) in the 100-meter hurdles (19.24) and the 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore Hannah Cluck (Johnson City, N.Y./Johnson City), Landman, first-year student Morgan Thompson (Porter Corners, N.Y./Corinth) and junior Deanna Zoch (Nassau, N.Y./Columbia) that charted a time of 53.62.
 
Third-place finishes came from Bergé in the high jump (1.37 meters – 4' 6"), senior Kristen Boerke (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) in the 100-meter hurdles (19.78), senior Bliss Rhoads (Copake, N.Y./Taconic Hills) in the shot put (10.26 meters – 33' 8") and sophomore Michaela Schaffer (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) in the triple jump (10.33 meters – 33' 10.75").
 
Plattsburgh State next competes at the Southern New Hampshire Penman Relays hosted by Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday, April 16.
