Meet Results

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team finished second out of three teams with 83 points in a tri-meet with Middlebury College and Union College hosted at Middlebury's Allan Dragone Track and Field Complex on Saturday.
 
Senior Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y./Saranac) won the long jump (5.36 meters – 17'7") and took second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.83) to help lead the way for the Cardinals. Senior Kaitlyn Bjelko (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown) also notched an event win for Plattsburgh State, placing first in the hammer throw (36.20 meters – 118' 9").
 
Second-place finishes came from Bjelko in the shot put (11.27 meters – 36' 11.75") and junior Jasmine Piper (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) in the discus throw (31.56 meters – 103' 6") and the hammer throw (33.94 meters – 111' 4"), while third-place performances came from senior Kristen Thomas (Islip, N.Y./Islip) in the 5,000-meter run (20:30.22), senior Bliss Rhoads (Copake, N.Y./Taconic Hills) in the shot put (10.37 meters – 34' 0.25"), the discus throw (28.79 meters – 94' 5"), the hammer throw (31.28 meters – 102' 7") and the javelin throw (29.52 meters – 96' 10") and the 4x100-meter relay team of sophomore Hannah Cluck (Johnson City, N.Y./Johnson City), junior Jessica Landman (Barneveld, N.Y./Holland Patent), junior Deanna Zoch (Nassau, N.Y./Columbia) and first-year student Morgan Thompson (Porter Corners, N.Y./Corinth) that charted a time of 53.51.
 
Plattsburgh State competes at the SLU Twilight Invite on Saturday, April 30, in its final tune-up before the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships
