BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's track and field team finished up Friday's session of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Indoor Championships at SUNY Brockport's Special Events & Recreation Center ranked sixth out of nine teams with 11 points.
 
Senior Rebecca Block (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) and sophomore Michaela Schaffer (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) posted a pair of sixth-place finishes, with Block taking sixth in the 5,000-meter run (19:41.99) and Schaffer placing sixth in the triple jump (10.94 meters – 35' 10.75").
 
The distance medley relay team of first-year student Skyler Misiaszek (Castleton, N.Y./Maple Hill), junior Deanna Zoch (Nassau, N.Y./Columbia), sophomore Natalia Castro (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) and first-year student Sarah Smith (Lake Pleasant, N.Y./Wells) placed sixth with a time of 14:00.31, while senior Journey Myricks (Westbury, N.Y./Shaker) scored points in the shot put with a seventh-place mark of 11.41 meters (37' 5.25").
 
Seniors Aislyn McDonough (Rouses Point, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton) and Janyll Barber (Dannemora, N.Y./Saranac) each advanced to Saturday's final heats, with McDonough owning the second-best time (2:20.07) in the first round of the 800-meter run and Barber posting the sixth-fastest time (1:00.91) in the first round of the 400-meter dash.
 
Seniors Kaitlyn Bjelko (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown) and Bliss Rhoads (Copake, N.Y./Taconic Hills) took 13th (10.58 meters – 34' 8.5") and 14th (10.24 meters – 33' 7.25"), respectively, in the shot put, while junior Jessica Landman (Barneveld, N.Y./Holland Patent) placed 14th in the 400-meter dash (1:02.37).
 
The SUNYAC Championships wrap up tomorrow, with the final session beginning at 10 a.m.
