Meet Results

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Eleven different Cardinals scored individual points, as the Plattsburgh State women's track and field team placed fourth out of eight teams with 48 points at the Middlebury Field and Track Meet hosted by Middlebury College on Saturday.
 
Seniors Journey Myricks (Westbury, N.Y./Shaker) and Kaitlyn Bjelko (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown) and junior Jasmine Piper (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) each scored points in two individual events. Myricks placed second in the shot put (11.12 meters – 36' 5.75") and seventh in the weight throw (12.16 meters – 39' 10.75"), Bjelko took fifth in the weight throw (12.97 meters – 42' 6.75") and sixth in the shot put (10.57 meters – 34' 4.25") and Piper finished seventh in the high jump (1.41 meters – 4' 7.5") and eighth in the weight throw (12.11 meters – 39' 8.75").
 
The Cardinals finished fourth through seventh in the 400-meter dash, with junior Deanna Zoch (Nassau, N.Y./Columbia), sophomores Hannah Cluck (Johnson City, N.Y./Johnson City) and Natalia Castro (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) and junior Madison Myer (Cape Girardeau, Mo./Carthage [N.Y.]) placing fourth (1:09.51), fifth (1:10.23), sixth (1:11.90) and seventh (1:32.26), respectively.
 
First-year student Sarah Smith (Lake Pleasant, N.Y./Wells) took sixth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:33.62), while sophomore Michaela Schaffer (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), first-year student Morgan Thompson (Porter Corners, N.Y./Corinth) and junior Mikayla Osmer (Cutchogue, N.Y./Mattituck) placed eighth in the 60-meter dash (8.57), the 200-meter dash (28.97) and the high jump (1.36 meters – 4' 5.5"), respectively.
 
The Cardinals' 4x200-meter relay squad of Cluck, first-year student Kelsea Greenthal (Hornell, N.Y./Hornell), Thompson and Zoch combined for a third-place time of 1:59.56.
 
Plattsburgh State next competes at the SLU Open hosted by St. Lawrence University on Friday, Feb. 18, in its final tune-up before the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Indoor Championships.
