CORTLAND, N.Y. – For the second time this season, junior
Jazz Roberts (Albany, N.Y./Guilderland) of Plattsburgh State has been named the PrestoSports State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, earning the award for the period ending Sept. 22, 2019. This marks Roberts' fourth career SUNYAC Runner of the Week honor.
Roberts finished first out of 65 runners with a six-kilometer time of 22:37.3 to help lead the Plattsburgh State women's cross country team at the Aldrich Invitational hosted by Middlebury College Saturday afternoon. Roberts averaged a 6:04 mile pace, edging the second-place runner by 6.2 seconds after overtaking her with 300 meters to go. This marks Roberts' third first-place finish in three races so far this season.
Plattsburgh State returns to action at the Purple Valley Classic hosted by Williams College on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m.
