MILTON, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's cross country team finished eighth out of 10 teams with 233 points at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships hosted by SUNY New Paltz at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton, N.Y., Saturday morning. The race was six kilometers in distance.
Sophomore
Rebecca Block (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) was the top Cardinal finisher, clocking in at 25:10.1 to finish 28th. Sophomore
Kristen Thomas (Islip, N.Y./Islip) was the next Plattsburgh State runner to cross, placing 44th (26:13.9), while sophomore
Aislyn McDonough (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton) finished 66th (27:09.9). Freshman
Madison Myer (Carthage, N.Y./Carthage) and senior
Mikayla Barrett (Rotterdam, N.Y./Schalmont) rounded out the Cardinal runners, placing 85th (29:43.4) and 90th (33:08.4), respectively.
SUNY Geneseo captured its 19th team championship in program history with 23 points, while SUNY New Paltz placed second (50) and SUNY Cortland took third (66). Geneseo's senior Genny Corcoran crossed first individually with a time of 22:08.8.
Plattsburgh State next competes at the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by St. Lawrence University on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 12 p.m.
