CORTLAND, N.Y. – For the third time this season, junior
Jazz Roberts (Albany, N.Y./Guilderland) of Plattsburgh State has been named the PrestoSports State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, earning the award for the period ending Oct. 13, 2019. This marks Roberts' fifth career SUNYAC Runner of the Week honor.
Roberts finished second in a 220-runner field at the Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational hosted by St. Lawrence University on Saturday, completing the six-kilometer course in 22:37.0. She was the fastest SUNYAC runner at the meet in a field that included five other conference teams in addition to Plattsburgh State. Roberts, who has won three races so far this season, averaged a 6:04 mile pace.
Plattsburgh State competes in its final tune-up before the SUNYAC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 19, when it runs at the Connecticut College Invitational at 12:15 p.m.
