NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team recorded three second half goals to give them a 3-0 win over New Paltz on Saturday at South Turf Field.
Plattsburgh State improves to 10-5 overall and 4-3 in the SUNYAC while New Paltz falls to 2-12-1 and 1-6-1 in the conference.
The Cardinals first goal came in the 64th minute when junior forward
Katie Matott (Rouses Point, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton) headed the ball in off a corner kick from sophomore midfielder
Abigail Seamans (Diamond Point, N.Y. / Bolton Central).
Seamans scored two minutes later off a cross from the top of the box by freshman forward/midfielder
Allison Seidman (Commack, N.Y./Commack).
With two minutes left in the game freshman forward
Kirsten Villemaire (Plattsburgh, N.Y. / Beekmantown) found the back of the net for her seventh goal of the season.
Graduate goalkeeper
Taylor Adams (Schenectady, N.Y./Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons) recorded her sixth clean sheet of the season making five saves.
The Cardinals out-shot the Hawks 21-5 with 12 shots being on goal.
Plattsburgh State is home Friday, Oct. 19 to host Fredonia at 3 p.m.
