PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – It was senior day Saturday as the Plattsburgh State women's basketball team picked up a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) win over the Oswego State Lakers, 69-53.
The Cardinals opened the game strong on Saturday afternoon. Senior
Stephanie Linder scored the first five points of the game for Plattsburgh State, helping the team to lead by as many as 11 points.

Devona Paul hit a few early layups, while
Misha Green and Isabella DePasquale both hit a three pointer to help the Cardinals to a 17-6 lead after the first quarter.
The Cardinals continued to surge in the second. Linder and DePasquale each hit a three to open the second and help widen the lead to 17 points.
Oswego's trio of Tayler Sorell, Courtney Ameele and Mary Mazzella started to find a groove in cutting the Plattsburgh State lead to six points, only to have the Cardinal trio of Green, Linder and
Allie Taylor responded with buckets of their own to give Plattsburgh a 37-23 headed into the halftime intermission.
The momentum did not slow any for the Cardinals in the second half. DePasquale got the hot hand in the third, hitting three of her game high five three pointers in the quarter. The freshman from Ardsley, N.Y. finished the contest with a career high 15 points.
It was smooth sailing the rest of the way as the Cardinal lead did not dip under 13 points in the fourth quarter.
On senior night, Paul finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Linder added a game high 16 points, as well as 3 assists and 4 steals. Taylor nearly had a double-double on eight points and nine boards while Green chipped in with five points and 4 rebounds.
It was one of the better shooting performances for the Cardinals, hitting 35% from the floor and nearly 35% from beyond the arc.
With the win Plattsburgh State is now 12-10 overall and 6-9 in conference. The Lakers fall to 4-19 on the year and 2-14 in the SUNYAC.
Plattsburgh State has a quick turnaround as the will host the SUNY Potsdam Bears on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall.
