PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The fourth-seeded Plattsburgh State women's soccer team eyes its second State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title in program history, as it begins SUNYAC Tournament play in the first round on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Field House Soccer Complex with a 1 p.m. game against fifth-seeded Oswego State.
 
TICKET PRICING: General admission tickets are $5, while tickets for children ages 5-12 are $3… Children 4 and under and students from SUNYAC schools with valid identification will be admitted free of charge.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES: Plattsburgh State is 12-8-1 all-time against Oswego and won its most recent match-up, 1-0, in overtime when the two teams met earlier this season on Sept. 30… junior forward Sarah Haight (East Meredith, N.Y./Charlotte Valley) scored the game-winner in the 99th minute, finding the back of the net from the corner of the 18-yard box… Senior forward Anissa Hartmann (Fairfax, Vt./BFA Fairfax) was credited with an assist on the play… Sophomore goalkeeper Nichole Gibson (Arkport, N.Y./Arkport) stood tall in goal, making five stops in the shutout victory.
 
ABOUT THE CARDINALS: Plattsburgh State is looking to make the SUNYAC Tournament semifinals for the third consecutive season… The Cardinals have fared well at the Field House Soccer Complex this season, going 8-1-0 at home… Plattsburgh State is the SUNYAC's highest-scoring team with 50 goals on the year, and the Cardinals also have conceded just 22 goals… The Cardinals have three of the top goal scorers in the SUNYAC: junior forward Madeline Saccocio (Schenectady, N.Y./Schalmont) (second, 12), Hartmann (tied for third, 11) and Haight (tied for fifth, 7)… Hartmann has 65 points on her career off 27 goals and 11 assists, and she is two goals shy of cracking the program's top-six list of all-time goal scorers… Third-year head coach Tania Armellino is 31-22-4 in her career at Plattsburgh State.
 
ABOUT THE LAKERS: Oswego defeated SUNY Cortland, 2-1, on Oct. 22 in the final SUNYAC game of the season to qualify for the SUNYAC Tournament… The loss knocked the Red Dragons out of contention for the conference playoff… Junior midfielder Alexa Restante scored twice in the win for the Lakers, which ultimately helped her earn SUNYAC Women's Offensive Athlete of the Week honors on Monday… Junior midfielder Emma Geyer is tied for seventh in the conference in goals scored (6), while senior goalkeeper Siegfried ranks fifth in the SUNYAC in goals-against average (1.06)… Oswego is in search of its first SUNYAC title in program history... Tenth-year head coach Brian McGrane is 75-86-13 in his career at Oswego.

WHAT'S NEXT: The winner of this first-round contest will travel to top-seeded Buffalo State on Wednesday, Nov. 2, for a 1 p.m. semifinal-round match… The winner of the SUNYAC Tournament gains the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
