CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State baseball team (22-17) was eliminated 5-1 by Oneonta (18-20) in the SUNYAC playoffs Saturday.

Oneonta took the lead in the opening inning Kevin Knack scored after Eric Wells grounded out.
The Red Dragons added to their lead in the sixth inning when Rob Peluso hit an RBI single, but the Cardinals hit back in the seventh inning when Damian Tyler notched an RBI single of his own.
Oneonta blew the game open in the eighth inning when they recorded three runs to put the game out of reach.
Peluso added two more RBI after a double to left center and Chris Massaroni scored on a passed ball.
The defeat means the end for Cardinal seniors Pat Shaughnessy, Kris Cauchon, Tyler, Bobby Piser, Jon Handy, Tyler Greene, Dan Tracy, Greg Larnerd and Alex Kritzer.
Shaughnessy finished his career as the Cardinals all-time leader in home runs with 11.
