PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Ryan Craig of the Plattsburgh State men’s hockey team has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 5.
Craig scored three crucial points over the weekend to help Plattsburgh to a 2-0 weekend against Fredonia and Buffalo State. On Friday, Craig opened the scoring with a power-play goal at the 14:44 mark of the first period before scoring the game-winner in overtime as the Cardinals defeated Fredonia, 3-2.
In Saturday’s 1-0 win over the Bengals, the senior forward assisted on the lone goal in the final minute in the first period. With eight goals and nine assists, Craig is now tied for the team lead with 17 points.
Plattsburgh will hit road for its final four games of the regular season. The Cardinals travel to Brockport and Geneseo for 7 p.m. starts on Friday and Saturday. The regular season wraps up next weekend with a trip to Oswego and Cortland.
