Boxscore and Play-by-Play

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.
- The Plattsburgh State women's soccer suffered its first loss of 2011 at the hands of Skidmore College Friday night, as the Thoroughbreds defeated the Cardinals 1-0 in a non-conference game.

Christine Bellotti scored the lone goal of the night at the 18:21 mark of the first half on a rebound from in front of the net.  Elena Stansky assisted on the Thoroughbreds' goal.

Renee Egan and Brittany Meade tried to generate some offensive opportunities for the Cardinals taking three shots apiece, but Plattsburgh could not solve Skidmore goalkeeper Meghan Sleezer who made six stops in her fourth win of the year.

Skidmore held a 16-10 advantage in shots, outshooting Plattsburgh 13-7 in the first half.  The Cardinals took nine corner kicks while the Thoroughbreds had three.

Monica D'Ippolito played the first 45 minutes in the Plattsburgh net, allowing one goal and recording six saves in the loss.  Freshman keeper Danielle Schmitt stepped in for the second half to make one save.

The Cardinals, who fall to 2-1-2 on the year, will travel to Middlebury on Thursday, Sept. 22 for a 4 p.m. game.
