Cardinals' Playoff Hopes Dashed in 2-1 Loss to Brockport

Boxscore and Play-by-Play

ONEONTA, N.Y.
– The Plattsburgh State baseball team was eliminated from playoff contention Sunday, falling 2-1 in its final State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game against The College at Brockport.

The Cardinals drop to 16-19 on the year and 8-10 in the SUNYAC.  The Golden Eagles improve to 24-10 overall and 13-5 in the conference.

Tyler Greene gave the Cardinals a strong performance on the mound allowing just two runs in a six-hitter.  Greene allowed two runs, issued one walk and struck out four.

Steve Locke picked up the win for Brockport, tossing a complete game in which he allowed just two hits and an unearned run.

Crockett Pack and Anthony Presto were the only Plattsburgh players to get a hit on the day.

Locke hit six Cardinal batters, but the Plattsburgh offense continued its struggles, leaving eight men on base.

The Cardinals will close of their season on Tuesday at 3 p.m. in a non-conference matchup with SUNY Canton at Chip Cummings Field.
