Baseball Suffers 7-4 Loss against Brockport

Boxscore and Play-by-Play

ONEONTA, N.Y.
– The Plattsburgh State baseball team saw its four-game unbeaten streak come to end, falling 7-4 in the completion of a halted game against The College at Brockport.

The original game – the first of a scheduled doubleheader – started and lasted three innings before the game was halted due to unplayable field conditions on April 18 in Brockport. The two teams resumed the game in Oneonta and completed it, but the second game of the doubleheader was started and stopped after a half inning of play due to rain.

Brockport had a 4-0 before the game was halted.  The Golden Eagles tacked on a run in each inning Friday, before Plattsburgh rallied for four runs in the seventh inning.

Crockett Pack led off the inning with a double to left before scoring on a Kris Cauchon single.  Cauchon scored later in the inning on a ground out by Danny Roeser. Donny Coolidge followed with a two-run single up the middle, but that was all the Cardinals would be able to get.

Bobby Piser suffered the loss, throwing the first three innings on April 18 and allowing four runs, two of which were earned on seven hits.  Marc Plante took the mound for the fourth inning and allowed two unearned runs for the Cardinals.  Casey Mohrien tossed the final two innings, surrendering one run on two hits.

The Cardinals were slated to play a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday at Ithaca, but those two games have now been canceled.  Plattsburgh will return to Oneonta Sunday to complete the final game of its three-game series against Brockport.  The game is scheduled to resume at 3 p.m.
