CANTON, N.Y.
– The 23rd ranked Plattsburgh State women’s soccer team held off the St. Lawrence Saints Tuesday afternoon for their third straight win.  The Cardinals are 3-0 on the season, while the Saints drop to 2-1.

Freshman Kayla Rabideau opened the scoring for the Cardinals with an unassisted goal at the 42:58 mark.  Kristie Pageau tacked on another in the 58th minute to put the Cardinals ahead 2-0.  Pageau redirected a cross inside the box from Lindsey Keyser for her second goal of the season.

St. Lawrence tallied their lone goal in the 81st minute.  In a scramble off a corner kick, Stephanie Sayward chipped the ball past the goal line, trimming the Cardinals’ lead to 2-1.

Plattsburgh finished with a 22-15 advantage in shots.  Pageau, Rabideau, Keyser and Liz Radigan each had four shots.  Alina Greiser picked up her third victory with five stops in the victory.  Saints keeper Abby Van Geldern recorded seven saves in the loss.

The Cardinals will hit the road again this weekend, taking on the Ithaca Bombers on Saturday, September 11 at 1 p.m.
