Cardinal Women Shutout Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y.
– The Plattsburgh State women’s soccer team scored two goals in the second half to top the Clarkson Golden Knights 2-0, in a non-conference matchup.  With the win, the Cardinals improve to 4-1 on the season, while Clarkson falls to 3-3.

Senior Liz Radigan scored her first goal of the season on a cross through the box from Kayla Rabideau in the 72nd minute.  Just 22 seconds later, Emily LaLone volleyed a ball out of the air from Emily Riley to beat Clarkson goalkeeper Stephanie Collins.

Collins finished with 11 saves for Clarkson.  Plattsburgh’s Alina Greiser did not record a save, picking up her third shutout this season.

Plattsburgh dominated Clarkson in shots, 23-1 and finished with an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Cardinals return to action this Saturday, September 18 for their home opener against Castleton State at 7 p.m.
