Plattsburgh Rallies to Beat Scranton in Gene Cusic Opener

Cardinals Rap 11 Hits

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Plattsburgh State baseball team spotted Scranton a 3-1 lead after the first inning to set up a 10-7 come-from-behind victory in Sunday's opener of the Gene Cusic Collegiate. The Cardinals won their fifth in a row to improve to 5-1 on the year while the Royals dip to 1-4.

Plattsburgh scored five times for a 6-3 lead in the third and then three more runs the next inning to blow the game wide open. The Cardinals' 11-hit attack included four players with two apiece: Anthony Presto, Danny Roeser, Donny Coolidge and Andrew Baio. Matt Burns' two-run single to right field capped the third-inning rally that put Plattsburgh in the lead for good.

Dan Tracy (2-0) got the win and Matt Seymour pitched 2-1/3 innings of scoreless relief for his second save.
