ASTON, Pa. – Five Cardinals recorded multiple points as the Plattsburgh State women’s hockey team defeated Neumann, 7-0, for the weekend sweep. The Cardinals improve to 3-0-0 while the Knights are 2-2-0.
Plattsburgh wasted no time as Justine Fisher scored her first of the season from Jordan Caldwell and Kristin Maton at 2:09 of the first period. Later in the period, Kylie Klassen added her first Cardinal goal from Alanna Moir and Fisher, giving Plattsburgh a 2-0 lead at the end of the first.
At 7:29 of the second period, Fisher recorded her second goal of the afternoon, followed by a goal from Teal Gove just nineteen seconds later.
Gove and Klassen had two goals apiece and Kara Buehler assisted on three goals in the Plattsburgh win.
Mandy Mackrell stopped 17 shots in the shutout. Neumann goaltender Kendra Chilson made 40 saves, suffering her first loss of the season.
