Cardinal Women Shut Down Middlebury

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y.
– Kayla Rabideau scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season as the Plattsburgh Cardinals defeated the Middlebury Panthers, 1-0, in non-conference women’s soccer action.  The victory marks the fourth straight for the Cardinals, who improve to 12-2-1.  The Panthers fall to 6-3-3 following Wednesday’s non-conference game.

Rabideau netted the game-winner at 64:50 off a ball that was knocked around the box following a corner kick.  Emily LaLone was credited with the lone assist.

Middlebury held a 10-8 advantage in shots and 3-2 edge in corner kicks.  Liz Radigan led the Cardinals with three shots on the evening.

Alina Greiser recorded her ninth shutout of the season, tying her with Erin Shaw for third most in a season for a Cardinal goalkeeper.  Greiser made four stops for Plattsburgh in the victory.  Lauryn Torch and Jocelyn Remmert split time in the Middlebury net.  Torch recorded one save and was followed by Remmert, who picked up two saves.

The Cardinals will host SUNY Potsdam in their final State University of New York Athletic Conference regular season game on Saturday, October 25 at 7 p.m.
