PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - Brittany Meade had four points and Stephanie Moberg scored two goals to pace Plattsburgh State to a 7-0 Eastern College Athletic Conference West Division women's hockey victory over Neumann at the Stafford Ice Arena on Sunday, completing a two-game sweep of the visiting Knights by a combined 13-0 score. The second-ranked Cardinals move to 7-0 both overall and in the ECAC West, while the Knights fall to 4-4-1 and 2-4-1. BOXSCORE
Moberg finished the weekend with five points to increase her career total to 102 points, becoming the sixth Cardinal to eclipse that milestone. She has scored 41 goals and 61 assists in 88 games.
Megan DiJulio provided all the offense that the Cardinals would need with her sixth goal of the season midway through the first period, coming on the power play. She was assisted by Steph Moon and Erika Shaubel.
Plattsburgh put the game away with three goals each in the second and third periods. Meade made it 3-0 on the power play at the 12:10 mark of the second period for her third goal.
In addition to Meade and Moberg, Moon (2 assists), Shaubel (2a), Mackenzie Lee (1 goal, 1 assist) and DiJulio (1g-1a) enjoyed a multi-point afternoon.
Mandy Mackrell stopped all 23 shots she faced to post back-to-back shutouts for the first time in her career. Laura Keeley made 33 saves for Neumann, which was outshot by a 40 to 23 margin.
The Cardinals will now turn their attention to final exam week to complete the fall semester. They will return to game action on Jan. 3-4 for the Panther/Cardinal Classic hosted by Middlebury (Vt.) College.
