Whimple broke a 26-year-old record in the triple jump at the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University on Friday, finishing seventh in a 36-person field with a leap of 11.57 meters (37' 11.5"). That jump, which was the best among Division III competitors at the meet, currently ranks second in the SUNYAC and second in the region.
