Plattsburgh State Athletics

Lisa A. Vicencio enters her 31st year as an assistant athletic trainer at Plattsburgh (ninth as associate head athletic trainer) in 2025-26. She was originally hired at SUNY Plattsburgh in 1994 as a part-time assistant athletic trainer and head volleyball coach.

After serving as the head volleyball coach and a part-time assistant athletic trainer from 1994-98, Vicencio became a full-time assistant athletic trainer in 1999 and an adjunct lecturer for fitness and wellness. Vicencio was named associate head athletic trainer in 2017 and also currently serves as a lecturer for the Department of Exercise & Nutrition Sciences within the Fitness and Wellness Leadership major.

Vicencio has a bachelor's degree in Health Education ('86) and a master's degree in Administration and Leadership (00') -- both earned at SUNY Plattsburgh.

She is certified as an Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Training Association and the State Education Department of New York. She currently resides in Plattsburgh with her family.
