Plattsburgh State Athletics

2014-15 (Sophomore): Indoor: Melanie placed third with the Cardinals in the 4x800 meter relay in a time of 10:07.63 at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invite (2/21)…finished in seventh place during the distance medley in a time of 12:51.48 at the SUNYAC Championships (2/28)…came in 14^th place in the distance medley in a time of 12:41.58 at the ECAC Championships (3/7)…Outdoor: Finished in second place with the Cardinals in the 4x800 in a time of 11:05.29 at the UAlbany Spring Classic (4/18)…placed eighth in the 4x400 meter relay in a time of 4:37.75 at the Capital District Classic (4/25).

2013-14 (Freshman): Outdoor: Placed seventh with a Cardinal team in the 4x400 meter relay at the RPI Invitational with a time of 4:34.75 (4/12).

High School: Spent six years competing with the cross country team at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School... picked up one varsity letter... enjoyed a great career in the track and field circuit... took home four varsity letters in six years as a member of the indoor track and field program... helped the indoor squad to a pair of sectional wins during her prep career... was named the team MVP and earned the Spartan Award... spent another six seasons on the outdoor track and field team and amassed four varsity letters in that time... assisted her team to another pair of sectional wins during her outdoor days... was named Most Improved and took home another Spartan Award throughout her outdoor career... is the current record holder for Louck's Games Freshman/Sophomore DMR. 

Personal: Born Melanie Taylor on March 12, 1995, in Schenectady, N.Y. ... daughter of Stephen and Tatiana Taylor... brother, Benjamin, was a member of the University of New Hampshire track and field team in 2010-11... enjoys running, being outside, music, cooking and spending time with friends... will major in multimedia journalism at Plattsburgh State.
