Before Plattsburgh: Attended Herkimer County Community College in Herkimer, N.Y. where he was a member of the lacrosse team and Broome Community College in Binghamton, N.Y. where he was a member of the lacrosse and hockey teams...played hockey and lacrosse at Maine-Endwell High School...named an All-Star in hockey twice...named to the all-Conference team for lacrosse on two occasions.

Personal: Born John Clark Lawton Jr. on March 25, 1991 in Binghamton, N.Y....son of John and Debby Lawton...business major.
