Biography
2009-10 (Junior Year at Plattsburgh): Made dramatic improvements in field goal accuracy, jumping 153 percentage points to .533 last season...played in a career-high 29 games...scored eight points and had game-best 10 rebounds in Nov. 15 season debut versus Lyndon State.
2008-09 (Sophomore Year at Plattsburgh): Led the team with a .769 (20-26) free throw average, but didn't have enough attempts to qualify for SUNYAC and NCAA statistical leaders...made seven starts in 24 appearances...topped the team with seven rebounds against Westfield State (Nov. 16).
2007-08 (Freshman Year at Plattsburgh): Made 22 appearances.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Wallkill, where he played three sports...earned three basketball letters under Coach Kevin Bach...averaged a double-double for points and rebounds during senior season...received three letters in football...participated in track & field.
PERSONAL: Born Robert James Ponesse on Feb. 23, 1989 in Newburgh, N.Y....serves as a Student Ambassador giving campus tours to prospective students and volunteering time to host alumni who are coming back to visit their alma mater...son of Bob and Kathy Ponesse...secondary education major with an emphasis in history...coaching minor.
