PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's cross country team placed second at the 44th Annual Cardinal Classic on Saturday morning, with two runners finishing in the top 10. Senior Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) led the Cardinals with a sixth-place finish in 19:46.0.

Not far behind, junior Ella Stuttard (Oriskany Falls, N.Y./Waterville) crossed the line eighth in 19:53.9, recording a new personal best. Junior Isabelle Cunningham (Bethlehem, N.Y./Bethlehem) followed in 20:15.6, also setting a personal best.

First-years Nora Mesec (Morrisonville, N.Y./Saranac) and Avery Crain (Hagaman, N.Y./Amsterdam) rounded out Plattsburgh's scoring lineup in their collegiate debuts, finishing 17th and 21st, respectively. Mesec clocked in at 21:11.2, while Crain finished in 21:21.9.

Senior Lillian Moran (Albany, N.Y./Colonie Central) placed 24th in 21:29.8, while first-year Saige Hayden (Brewerton, N.Y./Central Square) finished 29th in 22:16.2 in the first collegiate 5K race of her career. First-year Gracen Pandolph (Peru, N.Y./Peru) also competed in her first collegiate 5K, crossing the finish line 37th in 23:29.2.

The Cardinals will be back in action in two weeks, traveling to St. Lawrence on Saturday, Sept. 19.
