CANTON, N.Y. – After a weekend off, the Plattsburgh State women's cross country team returned to action at St. Lawrence, competing in the Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational on Saturday morning. The Cardinals finished third, led by junior Ella Stuttard (Oriskany Falls, N.Y./Waterville), who ran 24:07.4 for 18th place, a new personal best.

Right behind her was senior Grace Estus (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), who placed 19th in 24:17.7. The next group of Cardinals to finish included juniors Isabelle Cunningham (Bethlehem, N.Y./Bethlehem) and Ellie LeRoy (Malone, N.Y./Franklin Academy), along with first-year Avery Crain (Hagaman, N.Y./Amsterdam), who all finished within a few places of one another. Cunningham placed 25th in 25:09.1, recording a personal best, followed by LeRoy in 27th at 25:32.5 and Crain in 28th at 25:38.6.

Senior Lillian Moran (Albany, N.Y./Colonie Central) and first-year Nora Mesec (Morrisonville, N.Y./Saranac) rounded out the top seven, placing 34th in 26:05.8 and 36th in 26:16.6, respectively.

Other Cardinals who saw action were first-years Saige Hayden (Brewerton, N.Y./Central Square) and Gracen Pandolph (Peru, N.Y./Peru), who each competed in their first collegiate 6K. Hayden finished in 27:15.6, while Pandolph crossed the line in 28:18.2.

The Cardinals will be back in action in two weeks, traveling to Keene State on Saturday, Oct. 3.
