DELHI, N.Y. — The Plattsburgh State women's tennis team returned to conference play in dominant fashion Friday, earning a 7-0 road victory over Delhi to remain unbeaten in conference play.

The Cardinals entered the contest with a 7-1 overall record and quickly established control, taking all three doubles matches before carrying their momentum into singles play.

Plattsburgh opened doubles action with a pair of decisive 6-0 victories. Abigail Macdougal (Keeseville, N.Y./AuSable Valley) and Paige Westfall (Brewerton, N.Y.) shut out Abigail Arnold and Kara Fitch at No. 1 doubles, while Mirabelle Nonni (Essex Junction, Vt./Essex) and Julia Gyebi (Bronx, N.Y./Preston) posted an identical 6-0 victory over Alexia Przybylski and Elizabeth Losee at No. 2 doubles. Ava Perry (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) and Carmen Marino (Buchanan, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) secured the No. 3 doubles point via forfeit.

The Cardinals continued their strong play in singles, winning all six positions.

Jacklin Mitchell (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Peru) cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Przybylski at No. 1 singles. Ava Carey (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet) followed with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Arnold at No. 2 singles.

Marino delivered a dominant performance at No. 3 singles, defeating Losee, 6-0, 6-0. Perry also dropped just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Fitch at No. 4 singles.

At No. 5 singles, Marena Tubo (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) recorded another straight-set shutout, defeating Naomi Espinal Diaz, 6-0, 6-0. Westfall secured the Cardinals' final singles point via forfeit at No. 6.

With the victory, Plattsburgh State improves to 8-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. The Cardinals continue their road SUNYAC action Saturday, traveling to Oneonta for a noon match.
