PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's lacrosse team welcomes back
Cynthia Barnosky to the coaching staff as an assistant coach, as announced Thursday by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation.
"I'm so excited to welcome Cynthia back to our program in this new role," said head coach
Anna Bissell. "Cynthia has left her mark on this program in so many ways, but most importantly, she believes in the vision and potential of what we are building here. I'm thrilled to have her back and can't wait to see her empower, lead, and mentor our athletes in new ways as our assistant coach. We're so lucky to have her!"
Barnosky competed for Plattsburgh State for four seasons from 2023 through 2026 and concluded her playing career as the program's record holder in four categories. In the program's short history, she is the only Cardinal to surpass 100 career goals, finishing with a program-record 103. She is also one of just two players to reach 100 career points and holds the program record with 158 points. Additionally, Barnosky owns the all-time program record with 55 career assists and shares the single-season record with 17 assists.
During her time at SUNY Plattsburgh, she also served as a sports medicine intern, assisting with daily athletic training room operations and preparing treatments for student-athletes. Her responsibilities included ensuring players had the necessary equipment and supplies for practices and helping supervise practices with an AED readily available.
Barnosky graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Fitness & Wellness Leadership in 2026.
