PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team was unable to rebound from its midweek setback, falling 4-0 to Union College in non-conference play on Saturday at the Field House Complex.
The Cardinals entered the contest coming off a 3-1 loss to Skidmore earlier in the week and were looking to avenge a 2-2 draw against the Garnet Chargers in their last meeting back in 2022. Union struck early, however, as Vanessa Jorgensen found the back of the net just six minutes into the match. The Chargers continued their first-half surge with goals from Annabelle Thomas in the 14th minute and Taylor Bovardi later in the half, giving Union a commanding 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
Plattsburgh played a much more balanced second half and generated more competitive stretches of play, but Union added a late tally from Addison MacDonald to put the game out of reach.
With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 2-4 on the season. Plattsburgh will look to bounce back on the road Wednesday, Sept. 17, when they face Norwich University at 4 p.m.
