2025 Plattsburgh State Men's Soccer Schedule
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Led by eighth-year head coach
Chris Taylor, the Plattsburgh State men's soccer team is looking to build off a strong 2024 season that saw them consistently rank within the top 25 of the United Soccer Coaches (USC) poll and earn their way to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) playoffs.
The 2024 season saw the Cards lose just two games all season, finishing the year at 11-2-5 (6-2-1), finishing the year undefeated at home and in non-conference play. The team finished in fourth place in the SUNYAC standings and hosted a first-round playoff game before exiting the postseason in penalty kicks.
Plattsburgh State kicks off its 2025 schedule on the road, heading to Manhattanville on Friday, Aug. 29, for their season opener, and then heads to Rampao College the following day, Saturday, Aug. 30, for their second game of the season. The team then opens their home schedule the following week, hosting Norwich on Wednesday, Sept. 3, under the lights, and then hosting St. Lawrence on Saturday, Sept. 6. The Cardinals continue to take on Liberty League foes in their next game, heading to Skidmore on Wednesday, Sept. 10 to take on the Thoroughbreds for the first time since 2019. They then host Union on Saturday, Sept. 13, and Clarkson on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The Cardinals open SUNYAC play on Saturday, Sept. 20, on the road, heading to Fredonia to take on the Blue Devils. The Cards then travel to Troy, New York, to take on RPI in their final non-conference game and then continue SUNYAC play on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Morrisville.
The October schedule begins for Plattsburgh on Saturday, Oct. 4, as they take on defending SUNYAC Champion Cortland at the Field House Complex Turf, and then continues on the road against Oneonta on Wednesday, Oct. 8. The Cards then host SUNY Canton on Saturday, Oct. 11, and travel to New Paltz on Wednesday, Oct. 15 as they remain in conference action.
The Cardinals wrap up their regular season with three straight home games, taking on Oswego State on Saturday, Oct. 18, Potsdam on Wednesday, Oct. 22, and Buffalo State on Saturday, Oct. 25.
The top six teams in the final regular-season conference standings will qualify for the SUNYAC Tournament, with the first-round set for Saturday Nov. 1, the semifinals set for Wednesday, Nov. 5, and the championship set for Saturday, Nov. 8. The top two seeds earn byes to the semifinals, while the bottom four seeds begin the tournament in the first round on Nov. 1.
