2025 SUNYAC Women's Ice Hockey All-Conference and All-Rookie Teams

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior defender Mattie Norton (Glen Carbon, Ill./St. Louis Lady Blues) and fifth-year forward Ciara Wall (Somerville, Mass./New Hampshire) earned All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) honors, while first-year forwards Kate Conlon (New Hudson, Mich./Little Caesars), Tessa Morris (Grand Island, N.Y./Rome Girl's Hockey), and Kayson Ruegge (Edmond, Okla./Philadelphia Jr. Flyers) were each named to the All-Rookie Team, as announced by the conference office Friday morning.
 
The honor gives Norton her third career All-Conference selection and second straight first-team honor, while Wall earns her second straight second-team selection.

Norton was named to the first-team for the second straight season as the senior captain led a stout Cardinal defense and power play.  The Illinois-native leads the Cards and the SUNYAC with five power play goals, totaling six goals and six assists this season over 25 games. She currently has a +9 on-ice rating this season, has three game-winning goals, and is third on the team with 27 blocked shots. She picked up the game-winner in the team's season opening win over then No. 14 Norwich and had the game-winner over No. 6 Oswego on Jan. 10. On senior day, she scored the game-winning goal and added an assist for her lone multi-point game of the season.
 
Wall, an assistant captain this year, currently leads the team with 16 points, as she has a team-best 11 assists and has five goals. She has scored twice on the power play this year and has picked up four multi-point games. On Nov. 16, she assisted on both goals in the team's tie at Oswego State, as she also added two assists on Dec. 6 against Morrisville. On Jan. 18, she tallied a goal and assist in a 7-0 win over the Mustangs and assisted on both goals in the team's 2-0 win over No. 10 Cortland on Feb. 1.
 
Conlon has been a welcome addition to the Cards this year, playing on the team's top line throughout the season at center. She has tallied five goals and four assists for a nine-point season and has been fantastic on the face-off, winning 234 total face-offs with a 62% win-rate. At the outset of conference play, she had a four-game point streak, beginning with a goal against SUNY Potsdam on Nov. 15 and ending on Nov. 23 with a goal against Buffalo State. She tallied the game-winning goal against Buffalo State in a 2-1 win on Jan. 25 and had two assists in the team's 2-1 win over No. 10 Cortland on Feb. 1. She was named the SUNYAC Rookie of the Week following her two-assist performance against Cortland on Feb. 1.
 
Morris has been a fantastic source of scoring this season for Plattsburgh State, currently leading the team with nine goals, and tied for the team lead with a +15 plus-minus. The first-year student has also tallied four assists for a 13-point season. She scored her first-career goal against Buffalo State on Nov. 23 and scored in back-to-back games on Dec. 6 against Morrisville and Jan. 5 against No. 12 Nazareth, with her performance against Nazareth earning her SUNYAC Rookie of the week honors. She picked up her first multi-point game with a two-goal performance against Buffalo State on Jan. 25, which once again gave her SUNYAC Rookie of the Week plaudits.
 
Ruegge, who earned three SUNYAC Rookie of the Week honors this season, has been a consistent source of offense for the Cards this year. She is currently tied for second on the team with 14 points, with five goals and nine assists this year. The Oklahoman also has scored three game-winning goals during the 2024-25 season. After notching her first collegiate point against Oswego State on Nov. 16, she tallied her first goal and multi-point game with a goal and assist against SUNY Canton on Nov. 22. She then picked up the game-winning goal the following day in a 4-0 win over Buffalo State. Ruegge also had two points against Morrisville on Dec. 6 with the game-winning goal and assist, and once again had two points against the Mustangs on Jan. 18 with two assists.  She was also on a four-game point streak before the team's regular season finale against Williams, which included the game-winning goal against Canton on Feb. 14.

Tenth-ranked and second-seeded Plattsburgh State (18-6-1, 14-3-1 SUNYAC) will take on eighth-ranked and third-seeded Cortland (17-4-4, 12-4-2 SUNYAC) in the SUNYAC semifinals on Saturday, March 1 at 3 p.m. in the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.
