2025 SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey All-Conference and All-Rookie Teams

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State men's ice hockey graduate student defenseman Kevin Weaver-Vitale (Toronto, Ontario/Markham Royals) and senior defenseman Jack Ring (Hingham, Mass/Northeast Generals) were both named Men's Ice Hockey All-State University of New York Athletic Conference Honorees, while first-year forward Tyler Ramm (Westborough, Mass./Northeast Generals) was named to the All-Rookie Team, as announced by the conference office on Thursday.
 
Weaver-Vitale earned First Team honors after being named to the second team last season, while Ring picks up his second career Second Team honors, which he also obtained in 2022-23.
 
Coming back for his fifth-year at Plattsburgh, Weaver-Vitale proved to be a vital piece for the Cards this year, serving as a team captain and leading the team with 25 points on seven goals and 18 assists, all career-high marks. His 25 points are also currently tied for the top total in the SUNYAC among defensemen. The Toronto-native also ranks first on the team with a +12 plus-minus and was tied for third with 23 blocks. He has also tallied two game-winning scores and two power-play goals, earning two SUNYAC Player of the Week honors during the season. He began the season with a fantastic game against VTSU-Castleton, putting together a two-goal, two-assist performance for a career-best four-point night. Against SUNY Potsdam on Jan. 22, he tallied a three-point night, scoring once and adding two assists, also finishing the game with a plus-minus of +6. Perhaps his most important goal of the season came in overtime against Buffalo State, as he tallied the game-winner to help the Cards start their current four-game win streak.

Ring continued to show his ability as one of the most skilled defensemen in the SUNYAC in 2024-25, wrapping up his career with a 17-point season on four goals and 13 assists.  The 13 assists and 17 points are tied career best marks for the senior, with at least one game remaining in his career. Ring tied his single game career best point on Nov. 16, as he picked up three points in a 7-0 trouncing of SUNY Canton for the team's first SUNYAC win of the season. He also added the game-winning goal in a 4-1 win over Buffalo State, the Bengals' first loss in the SUNYAC at the time. He also had two, two-assist games, with the first against Williams on Jan. 18 and then again in the 5-4 overtime win against Buffalo State on Feb. 14.

Ramm, the Cardinal's leading goal scorer heading into the SUNAYC semis, produced a strong first-year campaign as he has tallied 11 goals and five assists in 26 games this season. He also led the team with four power play goals and tied for the team lead with three game-winning tallies. With 32 shots and 11 goals, his .344 SH% ranked tops on the Cards in 2024-25. After tallying an assist in his first career game, Ramm followed that with a goal and assist against Plymouth State. He then added an assist against Oswego and had two goals against SUNY Canton the following weekend, starting off his career with six points in four games. As of late, the Westborough, Massachusetts native has been on a tear, beginning with his power play goal against Middlebury on Jan. 17. He also had two assists against Potsdam on Jan. 22, and then tallied two goals on Feb. 1 against Oswego State, both on the power play.  He started a four-game goal streak against Cortland on Feb. 8, as he scored on the power play against Buffalo State in the following game, and then led the Cards to a playoff clinching win over Fredonia on Feb. 15 with two goals, including the game-winner. He concluded his streak against Potsdam in the regular season final with the game-winner in a 4-1 win over the Bears. Ramm also earned one SUNAYC Rookie of the Week honor this season

Fourth-seeded Plattsburgh State (15-10-1, 8-6-0 SUNYAC) will head to the SUNYAC Tournament semifinals on Saturday, Mar. 1, to play top-seeded No. 12 Cortland (19-6-0, 12-2-0) in Cortland, N.Y. at 7 p.m. The Cards defeated SUNY Potsdam 5-3 in Wednesday's first round game, overcoming a 3-0 deficit after a period of play, and a 3-1 deficit after two periods of play to advance in the SUNYAC playoffs.
