Plattsburgh moves to 1-9 overall and are back in action tomorrow, Sept. 21 as they host SUNY Delhi and Anna Maria for a tri-match, playing SUNY Delhi at 12 p.m. and Anna Maria at 4 p.m. Clarkson moves to 3-7 overall and next plays the University of Scranton and Geneseo tomorrow, Sept.21 at Geneseo.

The Golden Knights controlled the first set as they opened up with a 6-0 run led by two service aces from Spector. After an attacking error for the Golden Knights, Girma registered a service ace and made the score 6-2 Golden Knights. A 5-0 run for the Golden Knights extended their lead to 15-4. After back-to-back kills from Iris Mulvey (Middle Island, N.Y. / Longwood) and Collyear made the score 15-6 Golden Knights, the Cardinals couldn't string along any runs and eventually fell 25-9 in the first set.

Both teams traded points to open the second set as Allyson Treichel and Girma both put down kills. Back-to-back points for the Golden Knights gave them the lead before a kill from Girma tied the score at 8. A service ace from Almeida gave the Cardinals their first lead but the Golden Knights responded with three straight and took a 12-10 lead. The Cardinals continued to battle and tied the score at 13 before a 4-0 run for the Golden Knights gave them a 21-16 lead which they held on to and won the second set 25-18.

The Golden Knights jumped out to a quick 6-2 lead before the Cardinals made a run and took a 9-7 lead off the service ace of Mulvey. The Golden Knights tied the score multiple times and it was back and forth throughout as both teams were matching points. A service ace from Maggie Lyon (Ballston Spa, N.Y. / Ballston Spa) gave the Cardinals the lead for good and made the score 17-16. Kills from Girma and Katie Salphine (Le Roy, N.Y. / Le Roy) extended the Cardinals' lead.
