Mae Olshansky (Las Vegas, Nev./North American Hockey Academy) tallied the game's first goal on the power play, while
Ella Fesette (Plattsburgh, N.Y./RIT),
Ava Mattaliano (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./Belle Tire), and

The Cardinals finished 3-4 on the power play, while Trinity was 1-2 on the advantage. The final shots on goal tally saw Plattsburgh take the 26-14 advantage.
Plattsburgh State opens its 2024-25 season on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. against No. 14 Norwich. Trinity opens their season on Friday, Nov. 15 at Conn. College.
The Cardinals used the power play to take the lead halfway through the first period, after a strong start offensively. Off the initial faceoff, Olshanksy tallied the score, assisted by
Ciara Wall (Somerville, Mass./New Hampshire), after Wall freed a loose puck, leaving Olshanksy alone with the goalie for an easy finish.
Another Trinity penalty with just under 17 minutes to go in the first period set up the second Cardinal goal, as
Molly Riggi (Farmingdale, N.J./New Jersey Titans) took a shot from the point that was blocked, leading to a loose puck just outside the crease. After the puck was loose for about five seconds, Orr came away with it while on her knees on the ice, unleashing a one-timer for the score.
After a period of play, the Cards led 2-0 and outshot the Bantams 8-3.
Into the second period, Plattsburgh was able to tally another score early, as Fesette had a shot from just inside the left faceoff circle go over the goalie's right shoulder for a fantastic top-shelf score. A Trinity penalty with 9:40 to go in the period led to another Cardinal score on the advantage, with Mattaliano being the beneficiary on this one as her shot from the left face-off circle snuck under the goalie to give Plattsburgh a 4-0 lead.
The Cardinals' final goal of the game came from Ruegge as she rebounded a
Maeghan Forsyth (Billings, Mont./Notre Dame Hounds) off the glass behind the net, with a score on the doorstep.
In the third period, an early Plattsburgh penalty led to Trinity's first goal of the game, as Martina Exnerova scored on the Bantam advantage. Soon after, each team was able to kill a penalty, stopping the perfect starts from each team on the power play. Over the final 15-plus minutes, Plattsburgh continued to control play, earning the 5-1 win.
Maddie Carter played two periods in goal for the Bantams, making 21 saves, while Charlotte Bizup made five saves for Trinity. Marta Mazzocchi and Jelani Adorno each had assists as well for the Bantams.
