NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's soccer team dropped on Wednesday afternoon in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action to New Paltz, falling 4-0 to the New Paltz Hawks.

Lily Bailey (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) played all 90 minutes in net, making five saves in her second career start. Kelly Licata (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) took the team's only shot of the day, as the Hawks outshot Plattsburgh 18-1, including 9-0 on goal.

Plattsburgh State falls to 3-11 (2-4 SUNYAC) and next host Oswego State in another SUNYAC match on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. New Paltz improves to 10-2-2 (5-0-1 SUNYAC) as they next take on Buffalo State on Saturday, Oct. 19.

New Paltz gained control of the conference midweek match early on, scoring in the ninth minute off the foot of Rachel Eisert, tallying the eventual game-winning goal. Soon after in the 23rd minute, Eisert struck again, tallying her second goal of the game off a Brooke Kelleher assist. Just over five minutes later, Gaby Treble picked another New Paltz goal with a penalty kick conversion in the 28th minute.

In the waning minutes of the first half, the Cardinals were able to earn two corner kicks but could not produce any solid looks on the net to end the half trailing 3-0.

The second half saw the Cardinal's first shot of the game, as Licata had her shot go out over the top of the net in the 54th minute. The fourth and final goal for New Paltz came from Mia Baldinger in the 63rd minute, sealing the win for the Hawks as they were able to control play the rest of the way.

Maddie Franklin earned the shutout win for New Paltz, as she played all 90 minutes and did not face a shot.
