CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's ice hockey staff of head coach
Steve Moffat, assistant coach
Reid Lesswing and goalie coach
Bill Corbo has been named the 2023 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Ice Hockey Coaching Staff of the Year, as announced Thursday by the conference office.
This marks the first SUNYAC Coaching Staff of the Year honor for Moffat, Lesswing and Corbo.
Plattsburgh State has gone 20-5-2 (12-3-1 SUNYAC) so far this season and won its 24th SUNYAC title on March 4 when it defeated Oswego State, 2-1, on the road in the SUNYAC Tournament championship game. The Cardinals earned the SUNYAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament and will be seeking their third national championship.
Under Moffat, Plattsburgh State has gone 45-27-8 the past four years and has made the SUNYAC Tournament every season under his leadership. Lesswing is in his fourth year as an assistant coach with the Cardinals, while Corbo is in his 10th year as a coach with the program.
Plattsburgh State next hosts No. 9 Norwich University in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday, March 11, at 7 p.m.
